Jan-Martin Josten studied bioinformatics in Berlin, where he dealt with topics like Single Nuclear Polymorphism DNA Analysis. In his free time he played Amercian Football and made it as a receiver to the 1st division in Germany. In 2012 it seemed like the next logical step to found an HR startup: the pijajo UG. In 2014 the shyftplan GmbH was founded, financed by the state of Berlin-Brandenburg, the EU and private investors. Today shyftplan is located in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg and employs more than 50 employees.
